>>3763192I got 5D with a battery grip, and two batteries for less than 200$
But that's Ukraine, and it was in a pretty shitty condition. Also adapters for canon are pretty cheap and easy to find. Much cheaper than nikon ones.
>I'd get a 1Ds Mark III instead, specially if you're going to spend money on a grip anyways. Almost double the resolution, shoots faster, has live view, has more focus points, faster bursts, bigger viewfinder with 100% coverage, it's better in every way imaginable (except weight, but you mostly negate that with the battery grip for the 5D anyways)Sure, it's much better, expect price which is at least twice more. I just checked and here it starts at around 900$ and ends at around 1500$
Comparing to 200-300$ for a 5D.
Yeah, sure, liveview, but not having it is a good exchange for having a professinal picture in a two hundred bucks camera.
BTW, what exact Olympus were you talking about?
We're now thinking of getting a second camera for my gf, who is now my second photographer, but I do not want to get the same 5D. Thinking of some kind of 1D or a 5Dmk2, to also shoot videos.
A funny thing, I first met her shooting a theater she leads, and the first thing she said to me "Wow, your camera looks cool!"
I use the cheapest lens one could find - soviet industar 50-2, and still very happy with what comes out.
