I don't do it much anymore, but I used to bring my camera everywhere. I kept it in a little satchel I left by the door and I always grabbed it on the way out. I've had people ask why I have a camera with me, and I just tell them I'm a photographer so I always carry it with me. Pretty much the one thing everyone knows about photographers is that they should always have their camera with them, so nobody who would notice you always have it would ask why.
