There's a small village outside of Taipei called Houtong. It used to be a mining town, but once the mines ran dry, everyone moved out, and now it only has a permanent population of about 10 people. There is, however, a large population of stray cats that live there, and countless cat themed shops and restaurants have popped up over the last decade or so.
