if you had looked at your histogram like i told you to do, the first thing they teach you in youtube school and regular photography class is the levels adjustment. i recommend you play around with it and watch youtube videos on how to use all of its features so you can understand how you can use it to enhance your pictures
the second step i did was select her skin tones, and brighten them using a curves layer clipped to the layer i made of just her skin. i did this because i thought her skin was too dark and didnt want to blow the highlights by making a global exposure adjustment
