So I'm trying to get into the videography field after getting screwed over in my last couple of video jobs after graduating college. I recently bought a Canon XA40 to start out with. I've been shooting weddings so far. I'd like to try and make this a business but I'm worried about the potential of it. I live in a smalish city and there's already two other production companies here with guys around my age or younger (24) and all their stuff looks so much better than I can do. I feel like I'll never get anywhere. They have all the tools of the trade and I'm stuck with the basics. Is there a way I can try to squeeze into the competition? Also I fucking hate the over produced look they do for everything. I hate the cinematic look for weddings. I usually shoot mine like capturing a live event, not a fucking cinematic.
