I got hired to shoot video for a wedding reception tomorrow. I have little to no experience shooting video and the client understands that. We set a price of $150-300 for about 2 hours of shooting, based on how good the results are. My brother will be there as a photographer (he's decent, he actually got me into photography).
Anyone got advice?
I've done research on video shooting and practiced with my Roxant Pro camera stabilizer. I know good audio is important. I've got spare memory cards, and spare batteries for my phone, camera, shotgun mic, video lights, flashes, and flash triggers.
My plan is to
1. get there at least 30 minutes early
Sign a contract with client.
2. get establishing shots of the setting
4. set up a portrait booth with my brother (flashes, flash stands, shoot through unbrellas, maybe a background), distribute business cards when I'm not doing anything else
5.communicate with the client and get a shot of the bride/groom arriving
6.Shots of the people candid
7.shots of people addressing the crowd
8.video of people doing stuff (dancing?)
9.Closing shots, focusing on the couple.
10. Leave
11.Back up photos/videos/audio ASAP, both physically and on cloud
12.Edit/color grade/color correct/ add music/
13. Send to client
14.???
15.Profit!
Any holes in my plan?
Any advice?
