>>3708272In 2012 I wasn't interested in spending over a thousand dollars more to quietly take pictures of birds for a brand new hobby. I made do with what I had at the time. Even pulled an old 50mm f1.7M out of my dad's garage, covered in fungus and garbage. Took it apart, cleaned it and reassembled. Was a wonderful little portrait lens, very sharp.
I just don't think there's any excuse for lenses to make that god awful noise in 2020.
