Sure, it'll compromise size a little bit but it can definitely be improved. Can the JPG colour science be better? Oh yea but colours don't make a picture while composition (even with tons of noise and shitty colours) can nail you a great picture.
If I need to change equipment for whatever reason then I'll do it I guess, why the fuck would I ponder about useless shit like that? I'd rather be shooting pictures with the one I have, which is a Sony right now.
