Well I didn't intend to start an argument about cameras, prices or brands but here we are. I'm realizing based on responses and other things I've read that what camera I get more comes down to purpose or desired aesthetic/purpose and can be controlled to some degree by lens accessories.
With that said I may be opening up a whole new can of worms with the folks here by asking, should a DSLR or mirrorless actually matter deeply to me? It seems like people have preferences and they both have pros and cons but I just can't figure out why it's a divisive issue online. Can I really be horribly mislead on this and it's probably inconsequential assuming this is my first camera?
