I've been thinking some more.
I've been thinking a lot about the Panasonic 35-100 f/2.8 lens. It's one of Panasonic's "X Lens" products that's high quality, but without the Leica involvement.
And I started thinking about how the reach mightn't be all that I've been wanting.
So the alternative is the Olympus 40-150mm f/2.8.
But it's more expensive, has no IS (especially compared to the Pana) and it's bigger and bulkier (admittedly with a tripod collar). But it has that extra 50mm of reach.
The alternative is the FT 150mm f/2 prime that's selling second hand for absurd prices, requiring an overpriced adapter for the different in flange distance and providing electrical contacts. Though I understand the FT lenses are really bad with CDAF.
