Another thing: one of the first things the user sees after opening the settings dialog is a box that allows to "customize" his/her user interface with CSS code. I've always thought this kind of thing is a clear sign of poor quality software.
Then I played around with UFRaw and got pretty great results with it. Here is a 200 % crop with linear lateral chromatic aberration corrections. I think it's a clear improvement.
