Even in the case of the A7rIV which has a similar pixel density to 16mp MFT cameras, it has less noise over the image, and similar to that of regular FF cameras, since it’s exposed to a greater amount of light. It’s just subdividing a similar amount of light, it will blend back to lower noise. Even though at 1:1 pixel view it may have similar noise to the MFT camera. The noise is physically smaller in relation to image detail in the MFT camera, which is made possible by being exposed to a greater amount of light (more light = more signal = better signal to noise ratio, there’s more signal image-wise across the sensor) with more magnification.
