The short version is that some people become upset, others find it intriguing, and many seem disinterested, in that they won't come back again and cease contact; my process is a cheap trick. Over time the ratio of people who are happy with the results to those that are unhappy has improved, as the increasing sample size of examples cements a better impression of what to expect in the minds of prospective models, and thus exerts a subtle effect of self-selection. Though I've had complaints of my shot making people look ugly many times before, I have to say, there are a few of these where I think people look very attractive.

An interesting detail is that two of my models have been non-binary, and both times, they seemed quite appreciative of how they believed I had managed to depict them in a way that enhanced or emphasized their androgyny.
