>>3906243Im so fucking tired of hearing shit like this. Digital sensors have functionally limitless dynamic range as long as you don't blow out the highlights. The sensor always records data in the darkest parts of your image, regardless of how dark. The trade off is noise. This photo has 19.5 stops of dynamic range according to my spot meter. The key is editing, you just expose for the brightest part of the image so its close to but doesn't clip, then you raise up the shadows, reduce the highlights, and reduce the contrast. Most of the time you don't have to do major edits bc the dynamic range isn't that extreme.
The only difference between different formats is noise levels, so while the noise is present in the shadows, it would be worse on APS-C.
