You can keep main tree trunk level, even thought it's crooked naturally. You can keep composition level, on the scene, even if it isn't irl. Sky, keep a little bit of it in scene, not too much, only just so you've a bit white there. Blow it out, it needs to be blown white. Colours, doesn't matter at all, again, as long as you keep it up consistent, so in a way it matters a lot, as long as you manage to keep it consisntent. Finally, get good, look for interesting compositions. Branches overhanding and doing a cathedral sweeping look, fallen trunks in the foreground as a tying piece, some slightly off focus leaves on top of the composition to tie it all up, and give it depth. Everything is always there, it's justs not always clearly apparent. You're looking for order in chaos. It is there, but it requires effort and dedication.
