If so I'd blame that on my influences. I'm into rephotography a bit (shooting the same subjects over and over through different seasons/years), and sometimes those fields of grass or the quality of the corner of the road included in the shot are one of the prominent changes over the years
pic semi-related, some of Bill Cristenberrys work. He's one of my primary influences, being from roughly the same area as me. This is one location over a period of decades. In this case the building itself obviously changed form even moreso, but I'm sure you get the drift.
