>>4365884There are other uses for telephoto than portraiture. You can get shallower dof with perspectives and distances that wouldn't otherwise be possible. Like very mild background blur with a large subject (building / tree / rock) some distance away, just strong enough to create some subject separation but mild enough that the background isn't obliterated.
