I inherited this old tripod from my grandpa years ago. "Ising Bergneustadt" is all I know about it. Telescoping brass legs, stands about 40" high when set up. I'm not looking to sell it or anything, just looking for some information about its age and usability. Does anyone know approximately how old this is? I see no serial number, manufacture date, or anything like that.
The legs are incredibly stiff and difficult to extend and retract. Is there a specific treatment for cleaning/oiling equipment like this? I don't want to damage it of course, but I'd like to make it usable.
