Also gone through some similar feelings not to long ago due to some health issues. Mostly anxiety and depression. Ended up getting lorazepam. Only took it a couple times at night when I was to anxious to sleep. Doctor said my feelings were due to my health issues/stress at work and this was during Christmas, which apparently is a stressful time of year. He said if it got worse/didn't go away, therapy would be the first place to start. No idea what's causing your depression, but it could be knowing that others are going through similar things might help you not feel so bad about it. I think everyone experiences mental health issues throughout life, and unfortunately it's stigmatized. Although at least in Canada it seems to be getting better.
Found talking about my feelings with my GF, and writing down my thoughts and how I felt physically and mentally helped. Started exercising more when I could (health issues). Even doing small things made me feel better. Make a list of goals on paper and cross them off. It could be something small, something you've been putting off for awhile, creative or not.
