Once I started placing my left hand as a sort of makeshift bean bag, I suddenly managed to get the ommatidia (or at least rows of them) to show - pic related is a 100 % crop SOOC
1/180 (max sync speed for my flash) is simply too slow to shoot something hand-held at this scale, even with IBIS and OIS
Luckily there was no wind or otherwise I would have never figured it out
But once you've seen it, you can never be happy with your macro photos again
TL;DR: Fuji APSC is perfectly fine for shooting macro, it's just that with so many pixels shoved into so little space, shakes will readily show up
