Are you shooting at f1.7? If so, the lens is probably pretty fucking soft wide open + has a shallow DOF. Stop down a bit.

Did you even try to google? I realize 'Hawaii' means multiple islands...but literally the first page of "Hawaii Photo Finisher" gave me Hawaii Pacific Photo. Their prices are:

Thanks dude. Nikonos V with the 35mm. The 35mm lens works both above and below water. The wider lenses are restricted to underwater use only. $80 off KEH for the body and lens.

Literally anything would be good if that was the camera you have experience with. For a cheap and great similar camera look for the original olympus stylus (aka olympus mju) with the 35mm f3.5 fixed lens.

Buy really, go to any thrift store and buy whatever camera looks good to yiu. Try to get a fixed focal length with a f3.5 aperture.

Not everyone wants to spend time going through thrift shops trying to find good point and shoots. I make it a habit to check out any thrift shop I walk by and I've never found a single worthwhile camera. 80AUD is right in line with fair market value these days.
