>>3233297>Your shots are't good unless someone else tells you they are good.Patently incorrect. That is how noobs think however; they have no experience and can't critique themselves, so rely on others to do it for them.
>That's a fact of life for everything. This is how people who were emotionally abused as children think.
You won't git gud at anything if you can't judge your own work. THAT is a fact of life for everything. If what you're saying were the case, you wouldn't practice skateboarding or playing the guitar, or even look in the mirror before going out. You'd blindly walk into all sorts of situations in which you'd be in over your head.
Basic self-criticism is an essential part of life in society, and you perform it daily whether you realize it or not.
I can tell the difference between my good shots and my bad ones, and there is zero positive bias involved. If anything, it's negative; you should be your own harshest critic, as it's the only way you will get better. The more you practice, the better you get. The better you get, the more you can judge the ability of yourself and others.
By the way (and you're forcing me to go here) I'm immune to your retard logic, as I've won contests, and more recently sold prints for charity and profit... prints I knew were good without having to be told so, because I have this magical ability to judge a shot. Crazy, huh?
I sold 2 prints this month. Last year, I made 2000 calendars and sold every one in December. It cost me $7 to make each, and I sold them for $18. Do the math. The year before, I made 1000 and sold 994 of them. Pic related. I have taken some good shots, and didn't need validation from anyone else in order to know this. I know which ones to use, and which to put in the HDD graveyard. My absolute favorites are for the walls of my house only, because I am sentimental.
I am also in touch with myself enough to know I have never taken a good portrait, however. It goes both ways.
Grow up.
