>>3893104>DXO ARE BAD BECAUSE THEY USE BASE 20They use base 10.
>Nice logic pal, and no, well defined standards are exactly that, not arbitrary. They aren't standards, it's how they choose to plot their graphs.
>Because I have an education, and aren't just cluelessly quoting bits from other peoples sites. lol. You're not insisting on industry standards though. You're insisting on plotting SNR on a logarithmic base 10 exposure. Also your "education" seems rather poor when you insist their logarithm is base 20, lol.
The 20 multiplying the logarithm is part of how they do the passage to dB. It influences the Y variable, not the scale of the X axis.
>No, it doesn't, unless you're talking about point source lights, you should always be 1/3 of a stop under the brightest part of the image. If your scene has more than 12 stops of dynamic range and you expose 1/3 under max highlights then your shadows that are more that 11 2/3 stops under the maximum will be mush.
>Shame lol, shame on you. You argue in bad faith, dishonestly and without even looking at the facts.
Pic related is why 12dB is the minimum acceptable SNR. The 14 stops of dynamic range consider 0dB an acceptable level.
