Is it worth switching from a film SLR to an entry level DSLR if I want to get better at exposing my photographs properly and want to eliminate the clutter of film?
I was told that negative film is very lenient with exposure, whereas digital sensors require you to be more precise in a way that's comparable to slide film (not in regards to quality, but that's not what I'm looking for in this regard). Although having more lenience with exposure could be considered a benefit, I had the urge to use something that would be less forgiving to improve my understanding of proper exposure. Since slide film isn't that accessible, I figured a DSLR would suit that desire.
I've also considered switching to digital because I don't want to deal with having film lying around. I love the workflow of film, it's what I used to start learning photography, and it's what I've used ever since. Though, after a while, all of the negatives, prints, and cds start to pile up and become a hassle for me.
With that said, would it be worth getting an entry-level DSLR like a D3300 with a manual film lens? Would it be worth it if I can't afford a full-frame model, or should I save my money until I can do so? I'm not interested in other features and something barebones will do just fine, given that the image quality isn't too bad, even though it may not be as pristine as a full-frame sensor.
Sorry for the wall of text, it's just to elaborate my points in the intial question.
