back in the day 4chan did not scrub meta data from photos, but now it does on most boards. (at least the public facing side of 4chan)
as for getting doxxed it used to be very bad, all I can recommend for this is not to have anything particularity distinctive in your photos
.ie furniture, personal items, wall paper, tattoos or particular patterns of freckles. recognisable buildings in the background.
