The meetups slowly got invaded by cam models and girls with onlyfans accounts. While I can't complain about an attractive person nude or in lingerie, as nice as eye candy is, it took something away from the whole semi-closed meetup experience. These meetups were usually attended by the same 10-15 people just so we could keep shooting to keep the rust off and to have things to post online.
I can honestly say by how many people I know who make up the Toronto Photography Scene, that maybe only a very small handful of people were making any money, maybe less than 5%. One guy started do cinematography and shooting corporate videos, some were getting paid for the occasional headshots, some were making money hosting nude workshops, girls with onlyfans, but 95% of everyone else was shooting completely for free just to keep an online persona going.
