What's fun about the sigma Art is the kernel of razor/digital sharpness in the middle to mid-frame, even at full aperture, combined with the strong (but not actually rock-hard-ran-out-of-image-circle) vignette. And the flexibility that if you really need across the frame sharpness, you just choose an actual landscape aperture and crop a fraction and you have it.
It means you can create a variety of image styles with the one lense, and makes it fun to shoot.
