>>2654382I think that this scene is a prime candidate for HDR Toning. Could open it in two documents and run it through HDR Toning with the same settings, except on one bring up the detail slide and adjust the Edge Glow radius so the engine block looks more metallic and stands out, then mask it in on top of the other. I used a large radius for the Edge Glow, like 300px.
Also included were some colour adjustments on everything that wasn't the engine block so it stands out just a little more, maybe too much.
Definitely an interesting subject, just the photo needs something.
Going back and reshooting it with tools to make it shinier could also look good.
