Paying extra for a full-fledged DSLR when a shitty $30 camera can get the job done easier is nuts unless being good at editing is what you want. Ever heard of those musicians like The Kinks or LinkWray who slashed the cones of their speakers to get the tone they wanted? If such a thing gets the job done from the get-go, why bother emulating it after recording something pristine?
