>>4146790I like the color output on the a7r3 but when i first got it, jpegs were a little too bright, saturated, and oversharpened and skin tones looked too rosy with overly saturated red/magenta with absolutely no yellow/amber tones in them. once you mess with the settings its great. the colors in this SOOC jpeg are pretty much exactly what they were in real life. i delete 90% of my raws unless i really like the photo and want to do something different with it. i've seen people make sony creative styles and picture profiles into film sims that do as good of a job as fuji (sometimes better abusing the video-oriented gammas and custom LUTs) but that's not my thing.
fuji cameras are basically the same in the color department. i don't see really noticeable better/worse output from them or less flexibility in the jpeg settings. if i didn't get a good deal on this sony i would have bought a fuji xh2 that was for sale locally for $1350.
raws don't matter as long as nothing is baked in so you lose editing latitude (like sony a7r2 forced sharpening). almost every camera's raws can be made close enough that people would only pick the right one 50% of the time in a blind test. you just have to use capture one/darktable or something for fuji because lightroom can't sharpen xtrans files correctly.
