For just walking around I have a messenger back that fits my camera + lenses pretty well, even though it's not made as a "camera bag".
For backcountry/wilderness, where I do most of my photography, I keep all my stuff in a separate small bag and put my lenses in socks to protect them from scratching each other/bumping around. Any other accessories (extra batteries, cleaning supplies, etc.) I bring I'll shove in a ziplock that stays in the same bag, and my camera generally stays mounted to my shoulder strap with the Peak Design Capture Clip (and when I need to put it in my backpack I just wrap it in my jacket or something and keep it in a secure spot near the top of my pack).
I don't really get the point of having special inserts/bags, they seem like kind of a waste of money, but I'm not like a professional or anything so, you know, whatever man
