I have a Neewer boom arm and it does okay. However, I have a giant ass parabolic umbrella that I want raised up about 6 feet from the ground. I can do that no problem if I keep the umbrella and strobe completely vertical. However, even though the boom arm itself can support the weight with counter weight, my strobe's locking screw can't seem to get tight enough to keep it from rotating downwards.
Now I know I could just put it on a normal stand, raise it up and put it behind me and shoot in front of it. But sometimes I want the light to be really close, above my model and angled down while getting full body or 3/4 body shots.
What would be my best option to do this?
