>>3639706Here's a prime example where you've caught yourself between many different compositions without having necessarily picked one.
You've under exposed the bird inviting us to view at as negative space against the background but you've included the breaking wave damaging this effect. The breaking wave also breaks up the frame without necessarily creating a visual balance (eg 1/3 and 2/3 of the frame, 1/2 and 1/2, or a ratio balance of space taken up by the bird being doubled by the which is then double for reflective flatter water. The wave also creates an a horizon which generally you want your subject to intersect. So you either need to crop out or frame while shooting to accentuate a particular composition.
