Maybe I am wrong but don't photographs from the past fall to one of the two extremes? It's either family or tourist photographs or professional photographs. Her photographs are interesting to me because I think they fill the middle. It's interesting to see what kind of photographs an ambitioned amateur took back then. There was no internet and no social media back then so amateurs were not able to show their work to the whole world.
