But, the chemistry is basic, so you can pretty much wipe off the remjet after fixing, without needing baking soda. Some people run their chemicals through a coffee filter before putting them back into a bottle, and just wipe after fixing. It comes down to whether you want to try to put wet film on a developing reel.
