This means doing it manually via warp or having a tip top camera profile for it, the G1Xs doesn't have the level pic related does but it might appear or at least that's what i've seen with the Mark III, the Mark II i don't recall being that strong but i read something like it.
Basically don't put an important straight line near the upper or lower borders and you will probably be fine, but if i were you i would just carry that extra weight from a cheap DSLR than compromising with a compact made to get the shoot no matter how distorted.
