>>4338872You don't need to build lightboxes nor invest in fancy lights, they're not really needed. Just use a lamp you already have and your TV hooked to your computer with a wallpaper as a background, and you've saved a bunch of money already, for equal, if not better, results, and more background flexibility.
As for the camera, just get some mirrorless APS-C in your price range. The important part is the lens, you'll want something long enough to compress background and give you nice enough bokeh, so on APS-C check out 50mm or 35mm I'd go with 35, on APS-C it's the equivalent of 52mm on Full Frame, and you'll still be able to use it for general use. ideally an lens that opens up to f1.8~f2.
You may want a macro lens as well, taking macro shots of figgies is always fun. But if you're on a tight budget, just grab some cheapo extension tubes from aliexpress or whatever, and now your lens is turned into a macro-lens of sorts. Not perfect, it comes with limitations, but for less than 10 bucks you won't beat the price.
