>>3768092Only if JIP ever choose to make a Pen-F Mk. II.
I cannot see JIP choosing to return back to the entry level market with MFT, but if aspects of the Pen-F were... upgraded, then I could forsee it being something that could at least replace the E-M10 model.
First off... I/O and moving away from the proprietary A/V and USB port and replacing it with a USB-C with HDMI/DP output (while replacing the micro HDMI port) would work in its favour in the modern era, particularly if USB 3.1 speeds could be accomplished. External audio input would also be very good to see, putting it more in line with OM-D cameras.
Second, if Sony's MFT sensor comes out in 2021, then that really should be incorporated. A good upgrade in sensor will very welcome.
Third, weather sealing. Bringing the Pen-F in line with OM-D cameras in that area will perhaps attract people looking for a more compact and lightweight birding/wildlife camera.
Otherwise, the Pen-F will get cheap when MFT is totally discontinued by both Panasonic *and* Olympus. I can't see that happening soon when more Cine cameras and drones get made using MFT... but who knows? Panasonic already wants a piece of the Full Frame cake along with Leica and Sigma (L-Mount Alliance).
