Here is what my original 35mm scanning setup looked like. It was a bit of overkill and didn't need to be that big but I had the stuff lying around. Could easily just use a small piece of cardboard packaging and a torch. The most important part was making the foamcore 'frame' to feed the film through to speed up the process.
