>>2626804The p67 is very sharp, but given its shutter design, is very difficult to get truly sharp pictures when handheld. The mirror moves vertically, and the shutter curtains, horizontally. At 1/125, or 1/60 if you got steady hands, you can get reasonably sharp results (on a 11x14 print), but still much behind from what you would get at 1/1000 or 1/500 or on a tripod, even with mirror lock-up. I usually get sharper handheld results with the RZ67, thanks to its leaf-shutter, I guess. But both stand considerably behind tlrs and rangefinders when it comes to sharpness in slow handheld using (<1/125).
The smc 105mm has an unique character, contrasty with smooth oof transition, especially in the ~5m range, though the bokeh is typical of an overcorrected lens.
I won't re-scan the negatives these days, nor these are good negatives for asserting that. But here's what Provia 400x looks like on a p67, 105mm f4, 1/500 (if I recall correctly).
