Not by a lot, but wider than what I would reach for if I didn't know what I was going to be shooting. [spoiler:lit]I like a 35mm as a general purpose prime on my Nikon crop sensor camera.[/spoiler:lit] You might try zooming your kit lens to 24mm and keeping it there for a while, see how you like the focal length before investing in it.
