I’ve never had any issue with my Nikon or Olly stuff in the rain. The one close call was when i used the Z 40mm f2 in the rain because people said it has a rubber seal and was weather sealed even if Nikon didn’t advertise it as weather sealed… well it absolutely is not weather sealed and i got water inside the mount after using it in the rain.
