cameras, compared to our eyes, are more sensitive to differences in white balance.
thus, it's very important to get the white balance right (in camera or in post).
when different parts of the image are lit with light of varying temperature, this of course becomes a problem.
for me personally though, it's a moot point. my goal when photographing and editing is rarely realism.
