From early impressions I've heard the d850 has crazy DR, especially when you shoot iso64. I could see 'HDR' in the future being single shots from sensors with a wide natural DR, rather than a composite of multiple shots. I've tried multi-shot composites in the past and they almost always end up looking like ass.
pic related from 7 years ago when I had even less of a clue. Think it was 3 exposures. I think if I had been more careful with my editing it would've turned out better, a lot of bad HDR definitely comes from people not knowing wtf they're doing.
