If you're wanting to upgrade from an AE-1 due to metering issues, going to a camera that requires batteries no longer made seems like a real dumb choice. I say this as an owner of an F-1. I also dunno what extra features you're talking about besides the higher shutter speed. It doesn't even go up to 3200iso lol.
