>>3843677>they "couldn't innovate" and were still making byzantine TLRs by the time most pros had switched to 35mm.Apparently quite a long time ago Rollei and Hasselblad had a gentlemans agreement that they wouldn't compete with each other, rollei wouldn't make SLRs and Hasselblad wouldn't make TLRs. It worked well for both for a while but left Rollei lagging when SLRs became the popular choice. by the time the SL66 came out it was too little too late.
>https://casualphotophile.com/2020/10/18/rolleiflex-sl66-camera-review/I was given an SLX a few years back, design wise it had a lot of advantages over my 500c/m. I rebuilt the Ni/Cad battery, it was a nice camera but the battery only lasted 2 rolls and the camera had a short somewhere. The 1970s electronics just didn't cut it.
The later 6000 series were light years beyond Hasselblad and better in every way but more than double the cost. Too bad really.
