At the same time it seems like it’s way easier to get those type of results with larger formats vs small due to a combination of DoF, better image quality, etc. I don’t really see MFT pics that look like what I’ve linked. Something is always lacking in comparison even small details like color and texture. Same thing with watching films shot on 65-70mm like The Master. That entire film is filled with intimate close-ups which you’d think would negate what I’ve mentioned yet it still blows out regular 35mm. It feels so epic even watching it on a home tv. I know part of that comes from the lenses and film stock PTA chose, and no shit nothing I shoot will resemble that
Maybe I’m wrong and have built up larger formats in my head, that’s the reason for this thread, to get some feedback and suggestions from people with actual hands-on experience. What do you recommend then? Just getting faster+longer lenses for my GX85?
