Phones Question. I'll soon be getting my first new phone handset since getting into photography. I'd like to get one with a decent camera, but I don't have a lot of cash to spend, so I'm looking at a refurbished version of something from 2012 - 2013. For example, one strong contender right now is the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini. Review sites I've looked at tend to just rate the higher pixel counts as better (grrr...) but I'd like to know more in terms of colour reproduction, dynamic range, low light performance etc.
My question is this: Is there much to choose between phones in this price bracket in terms of the quality of the camera? Is there any point in me trying to get a 'decent' camera phone for not much money, or should I just accept that, compared to my DSLR, they're all minutely different shades of shit?
(Possibly worth noting I'm looking primarily at Android handsets; not a fan of Apple of Microsoft so generally shun their products where possible, but could be convinced otherwise for the sake of a good pocket camera...)
