>>4197666This was my Kiev I don't have the Orion 28 for it but I considered that (My Leningrad has it, great lens by the way) and 28 would have been too wide for the background, at 35 I still retain good detail in the background you can see the trucks, the trees and their palm fronds, the reflection and the building in the background with good detail and resolution while being wide enough for a small amount of foreground detail to fill in the negative space of the reflection of the sky.
28 has its places too, not discounting it, just didn't feel it was right for this scene. This one is actually 24 but same principle. 28 is good but you have to get close enough to your subject to make it worthwhile.
