The sensor is designed by towerjazz and made by stmicro, since then Leica has switched to Sony, guess why.
And it's not meant to give accurate colour, it's meant to give "LeIcA CoLoUr", because it's made for old wealthy Asian men, who are much more interested in their shots looking like they came from a Leica, rather than looking good.
